Everyone wants to know how to master fear. In fact, fear is the most unwanted feeling that everyone wishes to get rid of. Maybe many of you have tried many different ways already but have not yet found the proper solution to master it yet. Here, I am going to explain in details about what is the source of fearand how to overcome it.
What Is Fear?
Fear is a negative emotion that you have developed within. Whenever you fear about something, a hormone is being secreted and it makes your heart beat faster. What happens here is that then, you are stuck in that fear and cannot even reason properly. The real nature of a person is not fear and this is why it creates disturbance within. Then, you are unable to do things properly as you are tensed too because of that.
Some Fearful Experiences
I have seen children who fear their parents just because they are extremely strict. Kids cannot do anything on their own as they are not mature enough. Parents who often scold their kids over even petty matters are not even aware that they are creating fear and other negative feelings in their kids.
It is a habit of many parents to decide about the following for their kids:
When to watch television
What time to do revision and homework
What time to wake up in the morning
They are not authorized to meet their friends
They have to remain inside the home only
Unfortunately, these kids are not free to express themselves. So, their fear keeps on increasing and instead of being playful, they are accumulating stress within.
There is also domestic violence in couples where the wife has to suffer physical torture or dirty verbal languages from her husband. This also is a type of fearful situation. The wife becomes weak and depressed. Nowadays, even husbands too are treated the same way.
So, where are we going?
Instead of progressing and trying to live a peaceful life, we are creating more and more problems which, in return, bring sufferings to us. Sometimes, there are no problem as such but doubts create so many embarrassing situations that life for many are transformed into hell.
It is a must to know how to master fear because it always creates a great barrier in our life. This, in return, is often followed by failure of enjoying life with totality. The greatest failure is that an individual cannot grow properly within.
Other fearful situations are:
Fear of an interview
Fear of examination
Fear of incompetence
Fear of losing a job or being jobless
Fear of death
Fear of darkness
Here, the list is longer but I can’t enumerate all of them here. It depends upon each and everyone about how they want to face such situations.
Know that one negative emotion is linked with a chain of other negative emotions
With fear, other negative emotions are created such as inferiority complex, hatred of oneself, thinking of suicide, feeling helpless, hopeless, rejected, suffocated, bored, anxious, mental disturbance, lack of self confidence and more.
If fear is still present, you should stop watching horror movies, stop reading terrifying story books or scaring articles in magazines or in newspapers.
Stop watching or listening News on Television or Radio which consist of news about violence, crime, murder, rape and so on. This is because it has a negative impact on our mind and will thus increase the intensity of the fear already present within.
Stop talking to people whom you feel will create problems in your life and make the situation worse.
You should divert your mind towards your favorite hobbies such as listening to soulful or relaxing music, watching comedy movies as laughter is like a medicine in our life. You have to do such things that can make you feel relaxed and peaceful. You can also go for an interesting indoor or outdoor game or practice a sport suitable to you.
Stop watching movies or serials such as ghost story, haunted houses, super paranormal things and anything else that will make you scared.
Enjoy Nature and be with it; the best gift that life has offered to us.
